DESCRIPTION:
The San Francisco Bay Area Super Bowl 50 Host Committee has developed a "Super
Community" program to encourage widespread participation in activities in support of Super
Bowl 50 to be held on February 7, 2016 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara.
Unlike past Super Bowl games, all cities in the nine Bay Area counties are being encouraged to
participate. While licensing rights strictly control the use of the term "Super Bowl" the host
committee has developed the "Super Communities" program to allow cities to celebrate Super
Bowl 50 and promote local celebrations. In addition, the Super Bowl 50 Host Committee has

also created the "50 Fund" as the philanthropic branch of their activities. The committee has
created several grant programs and encourages local non-profits to apply.
Participation in the Super Communities program is free and allows cities to self-identify as a
"Super Community." Benefits of participation include:
o Inclusion on the Super Bowl website (www.sfbaysuperbowl.com/super-
communities)
o Promotion of local events on the Super Bowl webpage
o Free development of personalized logo which can be used as banners or on
official City website
o Opportunity to promote volunteer and grant opportunities
o Option to participate in bundled media-purchases at a group rate
Participation will provide an opportunity to maximize visitor awareness of lodging and
transportation options (such as ACE train). The Super Bowl website also lists places to visit and
stay during the game. Visit Tri-Valley and other local cities are participating in this effort to
encourage regional visitors.
