DESCRIPTION: Included in the Fiscal Year 2000-2001 Budget was funding for a
computer lab at the Senior Center. The lab has been installed and it includes six personal computers, two
printers and a scanner; all computers have access to the Internet. Computer cabling and equipment for
Internet access was donated by Matt Zika of WestCal technologies. Specifically, Mr. Zika donated the
following:
· 1000 feet of Category 5 network data cable
· 16 Category 5 enhanced network data jacks
· 4 surface mount interface boxes to house the data jacks
· 2 Category 5 enhanced hinged modular mini patch panel
Per Government Code Section 37354, it is recommended that all gifts and contributions be formally
accepted by the City Council. Therefore it is the recommendation of Staff that the City Council accept the
gift and direct Staff to prepare formal acknowledgement to the donor.
