SUBIECT: Fieid Trip to Senior Centers

RECOMMENDATION: To attend the field trip
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION: Dublin Senior Center Advisory Committee will take a tour of two
senior centers. The regularly scheduled meeting is cancelled and a special meeting is planned on the
first Thursday of June. The Senior Center van will leave from the Dublin Senior Center at approximately
9:45 a.m., and return by 2:00 p.m.
The first destination scheduled will be to visit the Pleasanton Senior Center and Senior Support, Inc. in
Pleasanton. There will be a tour of this center to learn about their activities and services including how
Meals on Wheels is provided to senior residents of the Tri-Valley inciuding Dublin. Senior Support, Inc.
Staff will share information about the assistance and services they provide to the frail and elderly senior
residents of Dublin, Pleasanton, and Livermore.
The second destination will be to the Alcosta Senior Center in San Ramon. This visit will consist of
participating in the congregate meal lunch program, and touring their facility.
It is requested that the Senior Center Advisory Committee Members confirm with Staff by Tuesday, June
2, 4:00 pm if they are able to attend the June 4th Special Meeting from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. A lunch
registration form is required by each person who participates in the Alcosta Senior Center lunch
program on the day of the trip. There is no charge to participate in this trip.
