PLEDGE OFALLEGIANCE Pledge of Allegiance was led by Vice Chairperson Neil Bedi. ROLL CALL Committee Members (CM) Present: Neil Bedi, Nicki Butler, Ivan Fong, lanna Fong, Alexandra Padnos, Ryan McCorriston, and Smruthi Balajee Committee Members Absent: Jessie Sher, Parin Pate(, Nicole Chen, Kush Rastogi, Shivi Bhamagar, Sophia Bafaiz, Rebecca DeG��zman, Meghan Butler, Loic Alini Liaison �lbsent: Alicia Tran, Parks and Community Services Commission Liaison Stafif�Prescnt: Franl< Luna, Henry Siu, Lisa McPherson and Officer Christina Blaylock- Dublin Police ORAL COMMUNICA TIONS— Dublin Librarian Mary Ayers informed the Youth Advisory Committee Members about a National College Fair on Saturday, May 2 from 1:30-4:30 PM in Daly City. For more information contact Ms. Ayers at the Dublin Library. The next Dublin Library event, ``Ghosts of Dublin — A journey through history," will be presented by Historian Rita Szollos on Wednesday, April 29 from 6:30-8:00 PM at the Dublin Library. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS-None UNFINISHED B USINESS—None NEW BUSINESS Youth Advisorv Committee and Student Representative to the Parks and Community Services Commission Applications for 2015-2016 Term Staff provided information to the Youth Advisory Com►nittee Members regarding applications for the 2015-2016 term. Applications are located on the City's Website. The deadline to submit an application is Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 5:00 PM. Applications can be submitted to the Parks and Community Services office at 100 Civic Plaza. Staff encouraged current Youth Advisory Committee Members to print out the applications and type the information in the f�or�n before submitting. Also, Staff encouraged Advisory Committee Members to tell their classmates to apply if they are interested. Current Advisory Committee Members who are interested in applying for the Park and Community Services Commission Student Representative position need to be a junior or senior in High School. Those applications are also due Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 5:00 PM. The newly appointed 2015-2016 Youth Advisory Committee will be introduced at the May 19, 2015 City Council meeting. Youth Advisory Committee End of the Year Activitv The Dublin Police Department Youth Services section will be providing food for the end of year activity taking place at the April Youth Advisory Committee meeting. The end of year activity is provided by the City to show appreciation for the service of the 2014-2015 Youth Advisory Committee Members. OTHER B USINESS— Staff provided infonnation on the Youth Advisory Committee 2014-2015 Annual Report regarding a Prezi presentation created by the Advisory Committee Members to present at the May 18, 2015 Parks and Coinmunity Services meeting and the May 19, 2015 City Council meeting. The 2014-2015 Youth Advisory Committee Annual Report will be reviewed by Advisory Committee Members at the April 22, 2015 Youth Advisory Committee meeting. Staff informed the Youth Advisory Committee Members that the Tri-Valley Teen and Career Job Fair on March 7, 2015 had 39l teens participate. The 2016 event is scheduled to be held on March 6, 2016 at the Dublin Senior Center. Over $500 was raised at the Youth Advisory Committee booth during the St Patrick's Day Festival with proceeds benefiting the Dublin Youth Fee Assistance Program. Staff thanked all members who volunteered at event. Staff reminded the Advisory Committee Members abo�it the upcoming "Spring Eggstravaganza" egg hunt, on April 4, 2015, at Emerald Glen Park. Interested Advisory Committee Member volunteers will be needed between the hours of 7:30 AM. and 1:30 PM. Staff informed Advisory Committee Members that two performance applications have been received as of March 25, 2015, for the Youth �3enefit Concert scheduled for April 12, 2015. The deadline to submit an application is Friday, March 27, at 5:00 PM. Staff encouraged the Advisory Committee Members to distribute flyers and to inform their friends and performing arts students at their school regarding the event. "I�wo Youth Advisory Committec Members and two Senior Center Advisory Committee Members will meet and review and approve performer applications the week of March 30, 2015. Staff informed the Youth �dvisory Committee Members that the City of San Ramon°s Youth Advisory Committee will be hosting a "T�ri-Valley Youth Advisory Committec round table event from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Dougherty Station Comm��nity Center in San Ramon. Youth Advisory Committee Members from Dublin, Pleasanton, Danville and San Ramon are invited to participate.
