The Dublin Doings newsletter will be streamlined and redesigned to more closely resembie the Department's Activity Guide. 7he senior activities section of the Activity Guide wilk increase to include the information that was included in the Dublin Doings newsletter. 7.2 Senior Center Marquee Meghan Tiernan, Parks and Facilities Development Caordinator, gave a presentation to the Advisory Committee regarding the conceptual plans and photos of the proposed Senior Center marquee, 7he estimated cost of the construction and instaliation of the marquee is $60,�00. The Dublin Senior Foundat3on agreed to contribute $3a,000 towards the cost of the sign and the remainder will be funded by the City, The final concept will be presented to the Parks & Community Services Commission on May 18, 2015 and City Council on June 16, 2015. The completion date far the marquee in anticipated for late 2015. On a motion by CM lVJack, seconded by CM Krausnick and by a vote of 5-0-0 the Advisory Commiftee recommended approva! to the Parks & Community Services Commission for the Senior Center Marquee project as presenred. Other Business Commissioner Thalblum reported that #he Parks and Community Services Commissioners participated in an area-wide information sharing meeting with Parks Commissioners from other cities. George Zika reported the Dubfin Senior Foundation participated in the Dublin Pride event by serving breakfast to the volunteers, Staf# thanked the Dublin Senior Foundation for the beautiful pens they gave the volunteers at the April 30 Senior Center recognition (uncheon. There was a brief discussion regarding the Advisory Committee Members visiting other senior centers or hosting a lunch with ather Senior Center Advisory Committees in the area. Staff will look into o#fering this opportunity for the Advisory Committee in the near future. CM Brizee suggested having Alameda Meals on Wheels make a presentation explaining how they offer meals through their own successful fund raising efforts and without government funding. Staff expfained that Meals on Wheels is currently offered by Spectrum Community CiTY o�Dua�,i��r Srrrao�C���r�x A�vlsouY Co�ri�rt[TT�� NI1vvT�s or Mr�Y 7,2015 i Page 3 of 3 I Services whose office is based at the Pleasanton Seniar Center and serves the 7ri-Valley area, inclucling Dublin. CM fto and CM Krausnick attended the Youth Fee Benefit Concert, They reported i�ow much they enJoyed the event and how the event raised aver $3a0 for the Youth Fee Assistance Program. Staff informed the Advisory Committee of the Wonder Years Exhibit, being displayed at the Heritage Park and Museums now through July 26, 2015, Senior Center Staff is also seeking photos and memorabilia from senior supporters depicting their families living and playing in Dublin during the 1950's a�id 1960's Advisary Committee Members signed up to present the Senior Center informatianal report at the Parks and Community Services Commission meetings through July.
