SUBJECT Ordinance Establishing Passenger Loading Zone - Dublin
at Regional Street .

FINANCIAL STATEMENT: No cost to City - curb will be painted by Post Office.
DESCRIPTION Mr. Albert Young, Superintendent of Postal Operations ,
U.S . Post Office has applied for an encroachment permit to locate mailboxes
on sidewalks at the following locations :
1 ) NW corner of Amador Valley Blvd. and Village Parkway.
2) North side Amador Valley Blvd. between Donohue and Starward Drives .
3) NE corner of Dublin Blvd. and Regional Street .
In addition, Mr. Young has requested that the City eliminate approximately
four (4) on-street parking spaces and establish a passenger loading zone
adjacent to the mailboxes at the NE corner of Dublin Blvd. and Regional
Street . Mr. Young ' s requests stems from a desire to relocate mailboxes
which are presently located in the shopping centers to on-street locations .
As part of the encroachment permit process , the City Engineer has reviewed
and approved the locations of the proposed mailboxes . However, the City
Council must adopt , by ordinance , changes in on-street parking. After
reviewing the proposed passenger loading zone, the City Engineer has
indicated that the removal of only two (2 ) parking spaces is required to
establish a loading zone .
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council waive the reading,
and introduce an ordinance establishing a SO ft . passenger loading zone on
'Dublin Blvd. at the northeast corner of Dublin Blvd. and Regional Street .

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
ESTABLISHING TRAFFIC REGULATIONS

The City Council of the City of Dublin does ordain as
follows :
Section 1 . PASSENGER LOADING: ZONES :
Article 11 , relating to "Passenger Loading Zones" ,
of the Alameda County Ordinance Code previously adopted by the
City of Dublin is amended by the addition of Section 6-445. 24 to
read:
6-445 . 24 - Dublin Boulevard. On the northerly
curbline from the intersection of Regional Street a distance of
50 ft westerly of the most westerly driveway into the shopping
center at the northeast corner of Dublin Boulevard and Regional
Street .
Section 2 . POSTING -OF -ORDINANCE
The City Clerk of the City of Dublin shall cause
this ordinance to be posted in at least three ( 3 ) public places in
the City of Dublin in accordance with Section 36933 of the
Government Code of the State of California.
