No other City fund~ will be used. DESCRIPTION: The City of Dublin received a $9,850 grant from the Alameda County Waste Management Auth;rity during Fiscal Year 1998/99. The grant must be used to purchase recycling containers. City of D~blin staff has worked with staff from Liyermore.Dublin Disposal (LDD) to identify the best use for the container grant. Staff has determined that approximately half of the grant will be used to purchase containers for t~e Dublin Unified School District recycling program. City of Dublin and LDD staff have been wor~ing with school district stafft© encourage more participation in recycling programs at the schools. After s~x~er~ meetings, teachers and custodians have identified their preferred recycling containers. LDD is prepared to order them on behalf of the City and distribute them to each school site. The remaining one-half of the grant will be used to purchase containers to distribute to businesse who participate in the expanded Commercial Recycling Program. Staffhas identified containers that l~aye been most requested by businesses, and these containers will be offered, to.business.e.s~a.s.~ce!~t~y_4 t9 enroll in the new program. On January 19, 1999, the City Council approved an expanded Commercial ReCycling Program. he attached amendment to the Commercial Recycling Agreement authorizes Livermore Dublin_Disposal to purchase the recycling containers. THIS AMENDMENT is made at Dublin, California, on June 1, 1999, by and between the CITY OF DUBLIN, a municipal corporation ("CITY"), and Waste Management of Alameda Count3,, doing business as Livermore Dublin Disposal ("CONTRACTOR"), who agree as follows: 1. SERVICES. CONTRACTOR shall purchase recycling containers to be distributed to commercial recycling customers within the City of Dublin. Total amount of the purchase shall not exceed $9,850. Approximately half of that amount will be used to purchase containers for the Dublin Unified School District, and approximately half will be used to purchase containers for the expanded commercial recycling program. CONTRACTOR shall place the order no later than June 11, 1999. Once containers are received, CONTRACTOR shall distribute containers that have already been requested byI the School District. Additional school containers shall be stored by CONTRACTOR, and shall be distributed to School District upon request. Commercial recycling container~ I shall be stored by CONTRACTOR, and shall be distributed to Commercial Recycling customers within the City of Dublin upon request by customers, on a first-come, first- sen, ed basis. 2. PAYMENT. CITY shall pay CONTRACTOR a total not to exceed $9,850. CONTRACTOR shall submit an invoice to CITY no later than June 18, 1999. accompanied by copies of order forms CONTRACTOR has submitted to vendors. CONTRACTOR invoice shall not exceed the total amount of order, including tax. shipping, and other applicable charged. CITY shall pay CONT1L4CTOR upon re'ceipt o~ invoice and order forms.
