FINANCIAL STATEMENT : Unknown at this time
DESCRIPTION At the February 9, 1987 meeting of the
Dublin City Council, the Council approved formation of the Dublin
High School Improvement Task Force. Staff was directed to
advertise the Task Force openings and then come back to the
Council with the responses at the second meeting in March.
Articles about the proposed Task Force were in both the Valley
Times and the Tri-Valley Herald. In addition, the following
groups were invited to participate on the Task Force:
Childrens Theater Workshop Dublin Tennis Club
Diablo Players Dublin United Soccer League
Dublin Adult Soccer Far Western Dancers
DHS Athletic Boosters Livermore-Amador Symphony
DHS Band Boosters Guild
DHS Site Council South Valley Youth Football
Dublin Little League Tri-Valley Softball
Valley Artists
To date, six community groups and five members of the community
have indicated interested in serving on the Task Force . Staff
has met with the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services
for the Amador Valley High School District and the _Dublin High
School Principal to discuss the direction of the Task Force.
Both have indicated a willingness to represent the School
District on the Task Force. Additionally the Park and Recreation
Commission have indicated a desire to have representation on the
Task Force.
It is the recommendation of staff that the Council
1) Approve Purpose and Scope of Study for the Task Force
2 ) Determine Composition and Size of Task Force
3 ) Establish Criteria to be Used in the Selection of Task
Force Members
as shown in Exhibit A.

DUBLIN HIGH SCHOOL GROUNDS IMPROVEMENT TASK FORCE
PURPOSE
To investigate the need for additional indoor and outdoor
facilities for community use and identify those areas of Dublin
High School that could be upgraded to fulfill this need.
SCOPE' OF STUDY
1 . Determine the need for additional indoor and outdoor
facilities.
a) Interviews with youth and adult sports groups, performing
arts groups, civic organizations, etc.
b) Interviews with Dublin High School staff and
administration.
2 . Conduct an inventory ' of community facilities in Dublin.
a) Athletic fields, tennis courts, pools, and parks
b) Community Centers and meeting rooms
c) , Theaters
3 . Identify those areas at Dublin High School in need of repair.
4 . Identify those areas at Dublin High School that could be
upgraded to provide additional community facilities.
5 . Retain the services of a professional architect to do the
following:
a) Develop preliminary improvement plans .
b) Develop cost estimates. for the improvements .
c) Develop ongoing maintenance costs associated with proposed
improvements.
6 . Prioritize the proposed improvements.
7 . Identify possible ' funding sources for the proposed
improvements .
8 . Prepare a written report summarizing the recommendations of
the Task Force for City Council review.
