i?RECOMMENDATION //Authorize attendance of Deputy City Clerk
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Approximately $1,100 including registration, lodging.,
transportation and meals. Sufficient funds are
available in the City Clerk's Budget.
DESCRIPTION The International Institute of Municipal Clerks
Conference is being held in Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas, from May 17-21, 1987.
The conference offers a number of seminars/classes which can directly -
benefit the Staff and the City in the areas of:
Current & Pending Legislation
Records Management
Public Relations
Legislative History Indexing
Elections
Minutes
Agendas
In addition, attendance provides necessary credits toward obtaining CMC
(Certified Municipal Clerk) status for the Deputy City Clerk.
The conference also provides an excellent opportunity for Staff to establish
a network with other City Clerks from across the nation in order to compare
experiences and share ideas .
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the Deputy City Clerk to
attend the International Institute of Municipal Clerks Annual Conference,
May 17-21, 1987 in Dallas, Texas .
