Foss, City Manager SUBJECT: Acceptance of Donation from the Altamont Cruisers Car Club Prepared by Dave Snider, Sergeant Dublin Police Services EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Dublin Police Services’ Crime Prevention Unit has been given a generous donation from the Altamont Cruisers Car Club. The donation amount of $2,500 will be used for the DARE program and “Every 15 Minutes” Program. The Dublin City Council will present the Altamont Cruisers Car Club with a Certificate of Appreciation for their donation. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The $2,500 donation will assist Dublin Police Services in updating its training for the DARE program and “Every 15 Minutes” Program. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council accept the $2,500 donation and formally recognize the donor. Submitted By Reviewed By Reviewed By Police Chief Administrative Assistant City Manager Services Director DESCRIPTION: On Tuesday, December 8, 2015, Sergeant Dave Snider attended a Grant Presentation Meeting by the Altamont Cruisers Car Club on behalf of Dublin Police Services. At the meeting, the Altamont Cruisers Car Club presented him with a check for $2,500. The Altamont Cruisers Car Club awarded Dublin Police Services this grant to assist with drug prevention programs. The funds received will be used to assist with further staff training for the DARE program and “Every 15 Minutes” Program. The funds were made available as a result of a profit the Altamont Cruisers Car Club made from their annual car show.
