AGENDA STATEMENT
City Council Meeting Date: September 12, 1988
SUBJECT: Authorization for Survey - Dublin Boulevard Extension
Through Camp Parks
EXHIBITS ATTACHED: None
RECOMMENDATION: 1 Authorize the transfer to $5,000 from unallocated
reserves for the property survey necessary to
establish the alignment of the extension of Dublin
Boulevard through the Camp Parks property.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Cost of $5,000
DESCRIPTION:
The Staffs of the City of Dublin, Alameda County, Army, and the East Bay
Regional Park District have been negotiating for the four-way transfer of
properties in which Dublin would receive approximately 12 acres of property
for the right-of-way of the extension of Dublin Boulevard from the Southern
Pacific Railroad right-of-way easterly through Camp Parks to the Alameda
County property (existing jail site) . This exchange is the subject of a rider
to the upcoming federal defense bill which appears to have a very good chance
of passing and being signed by the President.
In order to write an accurate description of this right-of-way
alignment, it is necessary to perform a field survey of the southern portion
of the Camp Parks property and tie, by survey, this property to the adjacent
two properties (the County property and the Bridgepoint property) . It is
estimated by Santina and Thompson, who would be doing the survey under the
existing City-Consultant contract, that the cost of this survey would not
exceed $5,000. This cost represents a very small percentage of the value of
the 12 acres that Dublin will be receiving.
Staff recommends approval of the transfer of these funds.
