ORDINANCE NO. -88
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
ESTABLISHING A 20 MINUTE PARKING ZONE
AT 6908 SIERRA COURT
The City Council of the City of Dublin does ordain as follows:
Section 1. In accordance with the provisions of City of Dublin
Ordinance 55-87, Section 24(d) , a 20-minute parking zone designated by green
curb shall be established on the southerly curbline in front of 6908 Sierra
Court, extending from the westerly curbline a distance of 100' .
Section 2. The provisions of Section 1 shall be added to Chapter 7 of
the City of Dublin Traffic Code.
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after
its final passage and adoption by the City Council.
Section 4. The City Clerk of the City of Dublin shall cause this
ordinance to be posted in at least three (3) public places in the City of
Dublin in accordance with Section 36933 of the Government Code of the State of
California.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 14th day of November, 1988.

Subject: Follow-up on Matters Discussed at the Traffic Committee Meeting of

The purpose of this memo is to inform you of our findings on a few matters that
came before the traffic committee on September 28, 1988.
Traffic Flow Map
The daily traffic volumes on the flow map were obtained from machine counts

intersection of San Ramon Road and Dublin Boulevard in November 1987 were not
used in developing the numbers for the traffic flow map.
.1 Request for Limited Parking at 6908 Sierra Court
s
The site was reviewed for sight distance problems as well as for the impact of
providing 20 minute parking spaces in front of the site. The location of the
business is on the inside of the 90 degree curve on Sierra Court. Sight distance is
restricted for an eastbound vehicle to a car that is parking adjacent to the curb on
the southbound portion of the street. However, due to the low traffic volumes on
this segment of Sierra Court, as well as the low turnover of parking, the sight
distance problem is not deemed severe enough to justify the complete elimination
of parking on the curve. However, parking limited to twenty minutes would
increase the turnover of those parking spaces. Therefore, limited 20 minute
parking is acceptable, as long as it is not in the least visible location to eastbound
vehicles, i.e. as long as it is not on the curved part of the road. It is recommended
that limited parking be provided in advance of the curve, as illustrated on the
attached Figure 1.
Review of Striping for Guidelines for Dual Right and Left-Turn Lanes
TJKM would like to be notified when the cat-tracking is being done for the
guidelines for double right- and left-turn lanes through intersections, even if it is
between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Alternatively, we think there is
merit in scheduling the cat tracking and the final striping for two separate nights.
This would enable traffic engineers to review the striping during the daylight and
to observe how heavy traffic negotiates the curves of the cat tracking. If there is
enough night time work, there may not need to be any additional night time hours
spent. If not, the additional expense of scheduling the work in two nights is
deemed worth it. Alternatively, at most locations, the cat tracking (requiring ropes _
which necessitate lane closures) needs to be done at night but the actual
installation of paint or markers can occur during the day. .
