HomeMy WebLinkAbout5.1 Dublin Day at County Fair CITY OF DUBLIN AGENDA STATEMENT CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: June 26, 1989 SUBJECT Written Communication: Dublin Chamber of Commerce re "Dublin Day" at the Alameda County Fair Report prepared by City Manager EXHIBITS ATTACHED Letter from President of Chamber of Commerce dated June 2, 1989 RECOMMENDATION 1;0 Consider FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Cost - $37 . 50; Sufficient funds have been included in the 1989-90 Budget. • DESCRIPTION The City has received a letter from the Dublin Chamber of Commerce requesting that the City participate in the "Dublin Day" at the Alameda County Fair on June 27, 1989 . Such participation would include sharing one-half the cost for a trophy and flowers presented to the winner of the Dublin race at the Fair. The total cost is estimated at $75 . J COPIES TO: ITEM NO. The Dublin Chamber of Commerce will again be organizing a community day bar-b-que and day at the races with a sponsored "Dublin Race" . Flowers and a trophy will be presented to the winner in the Dublin race, the cost being approximately $75.00. The Chamber would like to have the City of Dublin participate in Dublin's community day and would like for you, as Mayor, to assist in making the presentation in the Winner's Circle for Dublin's designated race. It would also be appreciated if the City, as in past years, would share in the costs involved for the trophy and flowers, approximately $37.50. Thank you for your consideration of this matter and we look forward to hearing from you.
