This center is an exciting new program opening in the summer in the Tri-Valley to serve severely developmentally disabled adults.' Presently, there are no programs of this type in the Pleasanton-Livermore-Dublin- - area for which these severely disabled adults are eligible. This lack of service is having a devastating impact; most often, it means the:Tri-Valley's disabled people spend their adult lives confined at home or placed in State Hospitals. Due to the sponsorship and support of the Kaleidoscope Activity Center and the work of a group known as the Tri-Valley Advisory Committee, families have another choice- the Keystone Adult Learning Center. Educational programming will be provided 6 hours per day. Monday-Friday, essentially year 'round. The program will serve 20 clients over the age of 22 years:-- Funds that we have received through a grant are limited. Those funds cannot be used for building modifications or program equipment. Since much of our adaptive equipment is extremely costly, we are looking for support from your committee. I would like to meet with your committee and make a presentation to them regarding the support I am" asking from them. Please feel free to contact me at 829-8658 between 8:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. or at 455-1815 after 3:00.
