SUBJECT: Contract 89-10 Traffic Signal Pre-Emption for
Emergency Vehicles

RECOMMENDATION: Authorize Staff to advertise for bids.

Budgeted costs are as follows:

DESCRIPTION:
This project would provide radio receivers and pre-emption equipment at
eleven signalized intersections to allow fire trucks to turn their approach
direction signal to green.
The Dougherty Regional Fire Authority has already equipped their trucks with
sending devices. This receiving equipment has been installed as part of
eight recently constructed signals and will also be installed at the Shannon
Avenue/San Ramon Road signal as part of the San Ramon Road Phase IV project.
Intersections receiving pre-emption devices as part of Contract 89-10 are:
Dublin Boulevard at Regional Street
Dublin Boulevard at Golden Gate Drive
Dublin Boulevard at Amador Plaza Road
Dublin Boulevard at Village Parkway
Dublin Boulevard at Clark Avenue
Dublin Boulevard at Dublin Court
Dublin Boulevard at Dougherty Road
Amador Valley Boulevard at Regional Street
Amador Valley Boulevard at Donohue Drive
Amador Valley Boulevard at Village Parkway
Amador Valley Boulevard at Stagecoach Road
