Correspondence from City of Livermore RECOMMEND,TION Authorize a Budget Transfer of $2 , 083 from the r• Contingent Reserves FINANCIAL STATEMENT Sufficient funds are available in the Contingent Reserves DESCRIPTION At the January 23 , 1989 meeting of the Dublin City Council , the City Council adopted Resolution No . 8-89 , A Resolution in Support of Childcare Services to Meet Existing Need and Approving an Application for Grant Funds for Childcare Services . The grant application , a collaborative effort between the Cities of Dublin , Pleasanton and Livermore , contained a request for $25 ,000 in funding from the State Department of Education to develop a five year regional childcare masterplan. As part of the grant application , a 25% match is required which amounts to $2 ,083 for each City . At the time that the grant application was submitted , staff anticipated that the match would be provided through in- kind services such as printing , postage or clerical support . However Resources for Family Development is providing staff support for this project , and consequently it does not appear that the cities will be in the position to provide in-kind services to total $2 , 083 . As funds were not budgeted for this purpose , it will be necessary to transfer funds from the City ' s Contingent Reserves . , Attached in Exhibit A is a letter from the City of Livermore requesting payment of the City ' s match. Thus it is the recommendation of staff that the City Council authorize a budget transfer in the amount of $2 , 083 from the Contingent Reserves .
