consultant ' s current workscope.
DESCRIPTION:
I . BACKGROUND
On April 18 , 1990 , a joint Planning Commission/City Council study
session was conducted to present five different land use concepts for
East Dublin. The focus of that meeting was discussion of current
general policies as they related to each of the five alternatives .
Based on the comments made at the April 18th meeting, further
discussions with East Dublin property owners and intensive work
sessions with the project consultants (Wallace Roberts & Todd) , a
refined concept has been formed. It is now time to bring this
concept forward for discussion at a joint Planning Commission/City
Council study session.
II . ISSUES
Subject to City Council approval, the proposed date for the study
session is Monday, August 6 , 1990 at 7 : 30 p.m. in the Council
Chambers . The meeting is intended as a study session on the refined
land use concept for East Dublin; it is not a public hearing. The
concept will be presented by the project consultants followed by
public, Commission and City Council discussion of the concept. The
discussion will focus on the overall development concept envisioned
for East Dublin and how that vision can be achieved through density,
intensity and mix of land uses as well as consideration of the area' s
natural features .
The meeting will be noticed in the same manner as all City
Council and Commission meetings . In addition, written notice will be
mailed to all persons on the East Dublin mailing list. This list
includes property owners , agencies and interested citizens . The Mayor
will chair the meeting and coordinate input from both the Planning

Commission and City Council . All persons wishing to address the City
Council/Commission on the concept will be allowed to speak.
No formal decisions or action on the project will be made by
either the Planning Commission or City Council at this meeting. Later
on in the process, the Planning Commission and City Council will hold
public hearings before making any formal decisions on land uses for
East Dublin.
III . CONCLUSIONS
Staff recommends that the City Council select August 6 , 1990 as
the date for the joint Planning Commission/City Council study session
on the refined land use concept for East Dublin.
