FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Approximate cost of $1200 for installation of signs and pavement markings. DESCRIPTION: At the meeting of October 13th, the City Council received a letter from Larry Hendricks, a resident of Davona Drive, and heard commentary from other residents regarding speeding problems on that street. After receiving this testimony, as well as comments from TJKM, the City's traffic consulting firm, and from Dublin Police Chief John Severini, the City Council determined that installation of STOP signs on Davona Drive at the northerly intersection of Wicklow Lane and at the intersection of Briarwood Lane would be appropriate. Additionally, TJKM has discussed with the principal of Murray School the painting of yellow school crosswalks at the Wicklow (north) intersection and agreed this would be helpful to children using the Edenberry Place access to the school. The truck weight limit sign on Davona has already been moved closer to Alcosta Blvd. ; however, installation of the sign on Alcosta requires permission from the City of San Ramon. This is currently being discussed. Also, the maintenance crew has trimmed trees that obscured the existing signage on Davona. Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance for installation of STOP signs at these intersections on an urgency basis and approve painting of the yellow crosswalks.
