DESCRIPTION The City0has received a letter from Richard Fahey, a
Member of the Board of Directors of the Dublin San Ramon Services District
requesting that the City adopt a resolution which would support the
placement of a national cemetary at Camp Parks in the jurisdiction of Contra
Costa County.
Attached is a resolution which was adopted by the Board of Directors of the
Dublin San Ramon Services District supporting the location of the national
cemetary at the location indicated above .

Attached is our resolution supporting a National
Cemetery at Camp Parks which is in our District . This
subject has been under consideration off and on for many
years . Our Board has consistently supported the idea and
would appreciate it if your Council would adopt a
resolution in support .
Approval by nearby cities would be an important factor
in having this project succeed . I hope your Council will
view it favorably .

RESOLUTION NO . 41-84
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE DUBLIN SAN
RAMON SERVICES DISTRICT URGING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A
NATIONAL VETERANS' CEMETERY AT CAMP PARKS IN CONTRA COSTA
COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, the citizens of the United States of America
have traditionally provided a final resting place for
. ...
—. veterans of the armed forces; and
WHEREAS , Golden Gate Cemetery in northern California has
reached its capacity; and
WHEREAS , northern California is the home of over one
million veterans; and
WHEREAS , part of the lands of Camp Parks in Contra Costa
County would provide a beautiful and well located site for a
national cemetery; and
WHEREAS , certain members of the United States Congress ,
notably Robert Matsui , Ron Dellums, George Miller, Sala
Burton , Pete Stark and Don Edwards, and the staff of the
Veterans ' Administration have indicated the suitability of
Camp Parks as the site of a national cemetery .
Resolution No. 41-84
NOW , THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of
Directors of the Dublin San Ramon Services District , who are
duly elected by their fellow citizens in Contra Costa and
Alameda Counties, California , reaffirm their support for a
national cemetery in the. aesthetically pleasing rolling
hills of a portion of Camp Parks located in Contra Costa
"' County , and urge the Congress and the' Veterans'
Administration to move with all due speed to make this
concept a reality before it is too late .
ADOPTED by the Board of Directors of the Dublin San
Ramon Services District , a public agency in the State of
California, Counties of Alameda and Contra Costa , at its
regular meeting held on the 19th day of June ,
1984 , and passed by the following vote:
AYES: 5 - Directors Richard Fahey, Ron Noble ,
Donald M. Schinnerer , Wally Duncan
and Joseph Covello
