SUBJECT Written Communication from the Dublin Chamber of
Commerce re Dublin Community Day at the Alameda County
Fair

RECOMMENDATION LO: Authorize financial participation in the Dublin
Community Day at the Fair
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: $32 . 50 ; Sufficient funds are budgeted.
DESCRIPTION The City is in receipt of a letter from the President
of the Dublin ,Chamber of Commerce requesting the City ' s participation in
Dublin ' s Community Day at the Alameda County Fair by having the Mayor in the
Winner ' s Circle for Dublin ' s designated race . The Chamber has requested
that the City consider sharing the expense involved of approximately $65. 00
Staff recommends that the Council consider this request, and if it desires
to participate as in past years , authorize Staff to notify the Chamber of
Commerce .

Dear Mayor Snyder & City Councilmembers:
The Alameda County Fair Association has designated Thursday, June 26, 1986
as "Dublin Community Day" at the Alameda County Fair.
The Dublin Chamber of Commerce will again be organizing a Community Day
bar-b-que and "Day at the Races" for Dublin's designated day. Each year
one race is set aside as the "Dublin Race" , whereas the community has the
opportunity to present a trophy and flowers to the winner of the race. The
cost of this event is approximately $65.00.
The Dublin Chamber of Commerce hereby requests that the City participate in
Dublin' s community day at the Fair by having the Mayor of Dublin in the
Winner's Circle for Dublin's designated race.
We would also like to request that the City of Dublin consider sharing the
expenses of the trophy and flowers with the Chamber, the.cost being approximately
$32.50.
