made up of members representing the following groups:
• City Council
• City Staff

The Dublin Pride logo and slogan, "Our City, Our Home ", recognizes Dublin's commitment to the
global community and encourages people to work to improve our world through environmental
awareness and volunteerism, as supported by the annual Dublin Pride Week activities. This
year's theme is "Energize with Dublin Pride ". The attached brochure (Attachment 1) includes the
winning poster from 2015 and provides information on events happening during Dublin Pride
week. The proposed activities are as follows:
Poster and Essay Contest:
The poster and essay contests are a Dublin Pride Week tradition. The poster theme for this year
is "Energize with Dublin Pride" and the essay theme is "What does Energy Conservation Mean
to You?" The contests, which are being organized and managed by the Dublin San Ramon
Women's Club, encourage entries centered around energy conservation, and are open to all
Dublin students in grades Kindergarten through 12. Winning artwork and essays will be
displayed at the Civic Center, and awards will be handed out at a future Dublin City Council
Meeting.
Food Drive:
This year the Food Drive will take place on Saturday, April 30, as part of Volunteer Day.
Collection bins will be set up at both Safeway stores in Dublin from 9 am — 4 pm. In addition,
there will be collection bins located at the entrance gate and the exchange building at Camp
Parks during the week of Dublin Pride. Collection bins will also be set up at Emerald Glen Park
with a request for volunteers to bring a canned food item to donate on Volunteer Day. All food
collected will be donated to the Dublin Children's Emergency Food Bank, which serves the Tri-
Valley area.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection:
Dublin residents will be allowed to drop off household hazardous waste (HHW) free of charge
and also pick up free compost for their personal use. Residents must make a reservation to drop
off HHW and /or pick up free compost. The event will be held at Micro Dental Laboratories, Inc.,
located at 5601 Arnold Drive (corner of Arnold and Central Parkway) on Saturday, May 7, 2016.
An announcement with reservation information will be mailed to Dublin residents informing them
of the event place and time. The Dublin Pride Week brochure and City website are also
promoting the HHW event.
"Be a Sustainable Citizen" Workshop:
This workshop will focus on ways of reducing our consumption of energy, water, and other
resources. The discussion will be centered on the principles of "Sustainable in 10 ", which
describe 10 cost -free methods to create cost savings and reduce our environmental footprint.
The workshop will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm. Registration is
recommended.
