Scarlett Court at Curtiss Dodge

FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Approximately $260 to paint curb and install signs.
DESCRIPTION:
Curtiss Dodge, 6451 Scarlett Court, submitted a letter requesting that
the City establish a loading zone along the curb in front of their property in
order to provide a place for transport trucks to unload automobiles being
delivered to the dealership. Parking is currently prohibited on both sides of
Scarlett Court from Dougherty Road to a point approximately 60 feet south of
the driveway of. the Valley Boat House. On-street parking is allowed for the
approximately 80 feet remaining between this no-parking zone and the driveway
of Curtiss Dodge.
When cars are parked along this curb, the transports are forced to
double-park, creating a hazardous situation for motorists traveling along
Scarlett Court.
Curtiss Dodge additionally requested, by phone, that approximately. 30
feet of curb southeasterly of their driveway be designated a no parking zone
because of sight distance problems for vehicles exiting the driveway.
The Traffic Safety Committee has reviewed this request and determined
that the loading zone and no parking zone are warranted. Staff recommends
that the City Council conduct a public hearing and adopt the ordinance
establishing a loading zone and no parking zone on Scarlett Court on an
urgency basis.

ORDINANCE NO. 47
AN.ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF.DUBLIN
ESTABLISHING TRAFFIC REGULATIONS
The .City Council of the City of Dublin does -ordain.-as follows:
Section 1. LOADING ZONES:
Article 10, relating to "Loading Zones," of the-Alameda County
Ordinance Code previously adopted by the .City of Dublin is amended by -the addition of
Section 6-411 to read:
6-411 Scarlett Court: On the'northerly curbline, from a point 217
feet from the easterly curbline of Dougherty Road, southeasterly a distance of 143
feet.
Section 2. NO PARKING ZONES:
Article 7, Section 6-289.66 relating to "No Parking Zones,". is
amended as follows:
6-289.66 Scarlett Court: On the southerly curbline, from the
easterly curbline of Dougherty Road, southeasterly a distance of 252 feet; and
On the northerly curbline, from the easterly curbline of Dougherty
Road, southeasterly a distance of 217 feet; and from a point 397 feet southeasterly
of the easterly curbline of Dougherty Road, southeasterly a distance of 32 feet.
Section 3. IMMEDIATE EFFECT:
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon
its enactment because the adoption and immediate effect thereof is necessary in order
to protect vehicular and pedestrian safety.
Section 4. POSTING OF ORDINANCE:
The City Clerk of the City of Dublin shall cause this Ordinance to
be .posted in at least three (3) public places in the City of Dublin in accordance
with Section 36933 of the Government Code of the State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Dublin on this 24th
day of August, 1987.

Dear Mr. Thompson,
Please Consider this letter as our request to designate a _
150 foot strip in front of Curtiss Dodge to the West side of our
driveway as a loading zone.
This is needed due to the dangerous situation caused when
semitrailer trucks load and unload Vechicles, and parts to our
business several times a day, and must double park in the street
because no other area is available.
We appreciate your consideration of this request. If you
