The Advisory Committee will receive a report on the St. Patrick's Day Celebration acrivities and events
planned during March 11-13,2016.

DESCRIPTION:
The Ciry of Dublin will celebrate its 33"d Annual St. Patrick's Day Celebration on March 11 — 13,2016.
The fesriviries begin Friday, March 11 at 6:00 PM with dinner and dancing to live music at the Green and
White Gala, hosted by the Dublin Sister Ciry Association at the Dublin Senior Center. A no-host bar "Irish
Happy Hour" opens at 6:00 PM, followed by dinner at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $65 per person and are available

On Saturday, March 12, revelers can start their morning beginning at 7:00 AM with a stack of hot "green"
pancakes served fresh off the griddle at the Annual Firefighters Pancake Breakfast at Fire Station #16
(7494 Donohue Drive). Breakfast also includes eggs, sausage, juice, and coffee. Purchase rickets at the door
: for $5 per person. All proceeds benefit the Alameda County Firefighters Association-Local 55 Chariry Fund,
which supports local non-profit and community-based organizations.
Also on Saturday, March 12, the Dublin Lions Club will present the Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade,
starting at 9:30 AM. The parade begins at Dublin Boulevard and Amador Plaza Road, traveling east on
Dublin Boulevard, north on Village Parkway and west on Amador Valley Boulevard, ending near the Dublin
Senior Center. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets to watch from along the parade
route. The parade features more than 80 entries, including fesrive marching bands and floats, Irish bagpipes,

and equestrian riders. The parade grandstand is located at 7400 Amador Valley Boulevard near the southwest
corner of Village Parkway and Amador Valley Boulevard.
The St. Patrick's Day Festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday, March 12 & 13, from 10:00 AM to 5:00
PM, at the Dublin Civic Center parking lot located at 100 Civic Plaza. This year's event includes three stages '
of authenric Irish entertainment,250 crafters and commercial vendors including an Irish Marketplace,an Irish
Tea Cottage,plenty of delicious Irish food and beverages,and carnival rides for all ages.
The 18�'Annual Shamrock 5K Fun Run and Walk is scheduled for Sunday,March 13 at 8:30 AM. The run
starts near the Civic Center and finishes at the festival with live music, awards and giveaways for participants.

Festival admission is free, and free parking will also be available nearby. Visitors can also ride BART to either
the East or West Dublin BART Starions and connect direcdy to the front entry of the fesrival by taking
Wheels Bus Route #10 using the special pass available from the bus driver during the weekend of the event.
Free and secure bike parking will also be available at the Festival.

Festival Highlights: .
• Entertainment will include three stages of lively music from Celtic Rock and bagpipes to traditional Irish
folk music or Celtic harp performing throughout Saturday and Sunday on two stages. Also, Irish Dancers
will perform continuously on the Dance Stage.
� The Arts & Crafts fair will showcase a variety of talented arrists. The Irish Marketplace features
vendors specializing in unique Celtic artwork, Irish tartans, beautiful Celric jewelry, handmade pewter
goblets and steins, delectable Irish whiskey cakes and candies, genuine four-leaf clover jewelry, and much
more. Other vendors will include arts and crafts booths, commexcial vendors, non-profit groups, and
sponsors.
• The Celtic Food Court features tradirional Irish favorites, such as boxry,bangers and mash,and fish and
chips, along with the Irish-American St. Patrick's Day favorite, corned beef and cabbage. Unique Irish-
inspired specialries, such as the corned beef sliders with cheddar and spicy slaw and Irish Egg Rolls with
horseradish sauce,will also be on the menu. Authenric Guinness, Harp, and Smithwicks beers are served
on tap, and featured desserts include Irish Creme Brulee,green shamrock-shaped funnel cakes, shamrock
mint shakes with Bailey's whipped cream, and, new this year, Irish Stout Ice Cream made with authenric :
Guinness beer.Tradirional festival foods and international choices will also be available.
• Visitors craving a wee bit of Ireland can step inside the cozy Irish Tea Cottage to enjoy lively music
along with tasty shortbread and scones and a steaming cup of authentic Irish tea served in genuine china
cups.
• The Carnival will offer exciring rides and attracrions for guests of all ages. On Saturday, the Carnival will
be open unti17:00 PM,two hours after the closing of the festival.
