CALL TO ORDER
The October 27, 201.0 meeting of the Youth Advisory Committee was called to order at 7:05 p.m. at the
Shannon Community Center, by Chairperson Brown. .
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Pledge of Allegiance was led by Chairperson Brown.

Committee Members (CM) Present: Gabriela Vasquez, Vivian Sung, Asian Brown, Brooke Brunckhorst,

Committee Members Absent: Maria Harral, Irma Ina. Deljkic, Jasmine Bafaiz, Sophia Bafaiz,

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING-September 22, 2010
ON A MOTION BY CM SUNG SECONDED BY CM ROGERS AND BY UNANIMOUS VOTE,
THE COMMITTEE VOTED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 22, 2010 AS
PRESENTED. .

Summer 2010 Teen Quarterly Report
Staff Member Luna presented the summer 2010 Teen Quarterly Report to the Advisory Committee. The
report included the different teen events offered during the summer session. Statistics for the Junior
•. Leader Program and the Dublin.Teen Circuit were provided to Committee Members to review. Members
reviewed the report with no further discussion or questions. S
Intergenerational Car Show and Ice Cream Social. '. ,
Staff and members of the..Subcommittee working on the..Car Show met on October 26, 2010 and
discussed the progress of the planning. The Subcommittee Members discussed ideas regarding the format
of the event. They recommended that the car show limit the entries to a minimum of 20 cars to a
maximum of 50 cars. The Subcommittee Members also recommended that all types of cars be included
with no specific categories. Entries will be on a first come/first, served basis. Staff.will handle all •
registration procedures.. The subcommittee plans to meet in.November to discuss a marketing and
advertising plan for the event..
Back to School Tailgate Event Evaluation
Staff Member Gamez asked for feedback regarding the Back to School Tailgate.event held at the Dublin .
Swim Center on September 10, 2010. The event was planned as a"kick off' for the Dublin High Football.
Team's first home game. Committee Members who attended the event thought it was a great idea.
The attendance was low due to other events taking place at the same time. There was a barbeque on the.
baseball field area offered by Dublin Little League which staff wasn't aware of. Committee Members
recommended that, in the future, Staff checks with the school on a weekly basis regarding other events
planned at the same time so no conflicts occur. Even though the area in front of the Dublin Swim Center
was good, Members suggested that if the event continues it should be located closer to. the stadium
entrance. Another suggestion would be to have banners or large signs to direct participants to the event.
OTHER BUSINESS .
Staff Member Gamez reminded Committee Members about the "Capture the Caldron" event taking place
on Friday October 29th at Emerald Glen Park. .
