25; 2009 in Ambrose Hall of the Shannon Community Center. The teen job fair will have about thirty
employers offering several types of jobs and opportunities for community service. There will be five
workshops on how to get a job, money management, interview etiquette, interview dress code & other
tips, and how to put together resumes and cover letters. Question and Answer sessions will be available at
the end of the every workshop. Youth from Pleasanton, San Ramon, Danville, and Dublin are invited to
participate. Free food will be provided for those who register. This job fair is a great opportunity for teens
to find jobs and/or community service opportunities. Volunteers are needed from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM to
help people with mock interviews, set up, and distribute tickets. The San Ramon Teen Council will also
volunteer for the event. Staff Member Gamez advised every Committee Member to come and bring at
least three friends.
7.2 Subcommittee Reports
The Website Subcommittee meeting is to be announced.
The Bearing is Caring Subcommittee has put together a plan for selling the green bracelets that will raise
money to buy teddy bears for the children at Oakland Children's Hospital. Vice Chairperson Acuri
suggested approaching small businesses to see if they could sponsor the project by buying a handful of
bracelets up-front and then selling the bracelets at their business. Committee Member Edlund wanted to
concentrate on selling the bracelets to students and teachers at school, but suggested that the Youth
Advisory Committee extends the project to the Dublin High School Leadership class. Gamez advised the
Subcommittee that the previous publicity plan should already be taking place, a plan that includes
utilizing-school announcements, the Dublin High School Video Bulletin, and distributing bracelets to
Committee Members who will be responsible for selling at least fifteen bracelets. If a flyer can be made,
Gamez will send the flyer to all City of Dublin employees. Committee Member Heddy will be in charge
of talking to Ms. Alvarez and Ms. Kim, teachers from Dublin High School, to see if they could sell
bracelets out of their classrooms. Committee Members Edlund and Heddy will sell the bracelets at the
Teen Job Fair. Staff Member Luna reminded Committee Members that with the new term limits, the
Committee Member term ends early, so the bracelets need to be sold fast.
Committee Member Brown from the Video Game Tournament Subcommittee reported that the
Subcommittee was confident with using Gamer Express and will write a new work plan. The tournament
will be a$10 entry fee, with a prize of movie tickets. After the tournament ends, there will be free play for
