Subcommittee Reports
The Website Subcommitee will report back to the Youth Advisory Committee at the January 14, 2009
meeting with the new information that will be added to DubTownTeens.com.
The "Bearing is Caring" Subcommittee researched the materials needed for the project. Committee
Member Heddy noted that the Subcommittee plans to purchase the "teddy bears" from either the Dollar
Tree or in bulk online. The bracelets will be sold for $2 each. The customer will receive a bracelet that
says "Bearing is Caring" and the money will buy a "teddy bear" that will be given to a needy child. The
goal is to sell 1,000 bracelets. The "teddy bears" will be given to children at the Oakland Children's
Hospital or to the Tri-Valley Haven.
The Y.A.C. Booth Subcommittee presented several options for the St. Patrick's Day Festival event booth.
The Youth Advisory Committee voted that the booth will consist of some sort of Carnival Game that will
be determined by the Subcommittee at a later time. The money raised from the booth will be given to St.
Jude's Hospital and the Wheelchair Foundation. For each day of the festival, the Committee will raise
money for one of the two charities.
