CALL TO ORDER
The March 28, 2007 meeting of the Youth Advisory Committee was called to order at 7:36 PM at the
Dublin Civic Center Regional Meeting Room,by Chairperson Matt Spring.

Pledge of Allegiance was led by Chairperson Matt Spring.

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING-February 28, 2007
ON A MOTION BY CM J. MINOR, SECONDED BY CM MIKE PECOTA AND BY
UNANIMOUS VOTE, THE COMMITTEE VOTED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF
FEBRUARY 28, 2007 AS PRESENTED.

NEW BUSINESS
Teen Job Fair
Youth Advisory Committee Members were asked to volunteer and assist Recreation Technician Robert
Beasley at the Teen Job Fair Saturday, April 21, 2007. The Job Fair will be held at the Dougherty Station
Community Center in San Ramon from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The Job Fair will include mock interviews
to help teenagers prepare for future jobs, workshops on resume writing, and over 35 employers will be in
attendance. Volunteers are needed for set up starting at 12:30 PM and will also be needed to help clean
up the area after the event. Promotional materials for the Job Fair will be distributed to the High Schools
in Dublin, San Ramon, and Pleasanton. The event will also be publicized on each city's teen website and
city website.
Community Clean Up Project
YAC members will be performing light clean up duties at the Dublin Heritage Center on Saturday April
28, 2007 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Youth Advisory Committee Members were informed that the
Maintenance Department will be providing cleaning supplies for Committee Members to use during the
clean up project. This will include, but not be limited to rakes, garbage bags, brooms, and gloves. Duties
will include raking, sweeping the sidewalk, picking up leaves, and removing garbage from the area.
Lunch and drinks will be provided. YAC members were advised to wear comfortable clothing and close-
toed shoes, and were also reminded that the community clean up project is a mandatory event.
Teen Special Events
Youth Advisory Committee Members were updated on upcoming teen special events. A Middle School
Dance is scheduled for Friday, April 20, 2007 at Wells Middle School from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM and the
Youth Music Showcase will be held on April 27, 2007 at Dublin Elementary School. CM Mike Pecota
expressed interest for low cost sports events for the community. Committee Members also discussed Dub
Town Jam; themes suggested included a sports theme and a Hawaiian theme. Committee Members
recommended handing out hacky sacks to Dub Town Jam participants. Food served at the event will
include hot dogs, hamburgers, and desserts from Mimi's Café.
OTHER BUSINESS
Changing Meeting Tiznes
Committee Members asked if it is possible to change the Youth Advisory Committee Meeting times from
7:30 PM to 7:00 PM. An earlier meeting time would be more convenient, and Members would be able to
get home at a reasonable time. Staff will research the process to change meeting times.
ADJOURNMENT
Being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:27 PM.
