HomeMy WebLinkAbout7.2 Community Clean Up Project (r 19 -1• 82 AGENDA STATEMENT YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITEE lFOR�� MEETING DATE:FEBRUARY 28, 2007 SUBJECT: Community Clean Up Project Report Prepared by Frank Luna, Recreation Supervisor ATTACHMENTS: None RECOMMENDATION: Receive report FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None DESCRIPTION: Staff will assist the Youth Advisory Committee Members in establishing a subcommittee to coordinate a"Community Clean Up"project. The Youth Advisory Committee identified a "Community Clean Up" project as one of their goals and objectives for the 2006-2007 term. The Committee determined that a community clean up event would benefit the community by removing unsightly refuse from a specific area of the community. At the previous Youth Advisory Committee meeting, Members suggested that the Iron Horse Trial in the Arroyo Vista neighborhood could be an appropriate area for the "Community Clean Up" project. Also, staff will suggest to Committee Members that the "Community Clean Up" project take place during the City's Dublin Pride Week which is scheduled to take place during the last week in April. The subcommittee will solicit volunteers and select a specific location, time and date for the project. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Youth Advisory Committee establish a "Community Clean Up" subcommittee to solicit volunteers and select a specific location, time, date for the project.
