RECOMMENDATION: Receive report and appoint interested Committee Members to serve
on a Publicity Subcommittee for teen special events. Also provide
• input on potential promotional methods.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: . None
DESCRIPTION: Staff will solicit interested Committee Members to serve on a
Publicity Subcommittee responsible for assisting Staff with the advertising and marketing of teen special
events. To ensure the success of the teen events offered, it is important that Committee Members assist
Staff with the marketing of these events. Staff will market teen events on school campuses, on the teen
website, at City sponsored events, radio stations and locations throughout the community where teens
frequently visit. Staff wants input on other publicity methods as well. The subcommittee shall have no
more than six members.
Currently, Staff promotes teen special events through flyers, direct mailings to participants, information
on the City and teen websites, and through school announcements at the middle schools and high school.
Staff also promotes teen special events once a month on the campuses during the lunchtime hour.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the Youth Advisory. Committee receive the report and appoint interested
Committee Members to serve on a Publicity Subcommittee for teen special events. Also provide input on
potential promotional methods.
