YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE
MINUTES OF:November 51998
The November 5, 1998 meeting of the Youth Advisory Committee was called to order at 7:43 p.m. at the Dublin Civic
Center Regional Room, Dublin, California, by Recreation Coordinator Wierschem.
Pledge of Allegiance
Pledge of Allegiance was led by Recreation Coordinator Wierschem.
Roll Call
Committee members Present: Arcuri, Christiansen,Ervin,Pedersen, Gillmore, Gill, Kaur, Robinson, Alger
Absent: Chapman, Conejo, Cramer,
Adult Advisors Present: Seals,Bailey,Marken, Celotti
Staff members: Ashby, Wierschem
Oral Communications-None
Approval of Minutes-Motion to approve with date change to October 1, 1998 in the heading. Seconded by Peteresen
Written Communications-None
Unfinished Business-
Youth Advisory Committee Elections
Staff opened nominations for Y.A.C. Chairperson and Vice-chairperson and there were four nominations for chair. Those
Committee members were, Arcuri, Alger, Christianson and Pederson. A secret ballot election was conducted and
Christiansen received the most votes for Chairperson and Alger received the second highest, and won the position of
Vice-chairperson.
Ski and Snowboard Trip
After in-depth discussion concerning the Ski and Snowboard Trip, The Committee decided to move the date of the trip
from February 14th and 15th to February 27 and 28`h of 1999. Committee Member Gill motioned that the subcommittee
will have to provide staff with a list of 40 registrants with a deposit of $75.00, by December 2nd, with a second from
Committee Member Alger. It unanimously passed. A sub-committee comprised of Gill, Pertersen and Alger was
appointed.
New Business
Evaluation Items
Committee reviewed events and activities for 1998/99 and set a timeline to put on these events
T-shirt Sale and Random Act of Kindness week March
Youth Award Nights April
Dub Town Jam May
Summer Pool Parties May-June
Committee also formed a sub-committee to plan broom hockey and Qzar events. The Committee consists of
Arcuri, Kaur, Robinson, and Alger.
Other Business
Karen Seals reported that Friday Night Live was hosting it's annual New Year's Eve Party at Camelot Park in
Livermore. Arcuri reported that Teen Night at the Civic Center was fun. 21 teens showed up, and the committee
that planned the event wants to host one every month.

Being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:10 p.m.
