As described in his letter, JazzMasters Workshop provides free jazz music ensemble performance and mentoring for children by jazz professionals. Mr. Kriozere suggests that the City take the lead in the organization of this program and contact the Dublin Unified School District regarding co-sponsorship of the program. Cm. Lussie asked Kriozere if he had researched funding and location issues regarding implementation of this program. Kriozere stated the program would cost about $1,200 per month to run and he thought that possibly it could be funded on a 50-50basis between the City of Dublin and Dublin Unified School District. Kriozere stated that possible alternate funding could be done by fundraising or individual and corporate donations. Kriozere felt that the Heritage Center or the Shannon Community Center might be possible locations for a summer program. Cm. Kriozere stated although he has not visited any other organizations, he has talked about this program with many other parents who were very interested in seeing this program implemented. Cm. Acuff asked if he had talked to Los Positas College as they have a choral jazz group that would be great resource. Kriozere answered no. Cm. Muetterties asked if all performance and age levels would play together. Kriozere stated that they are able to blend all play levels and ages into one performance. Cm. Muetterties asked Lowart if this program was in line with the Parks and Recreation Goals and Objectives.
