Commission Comments
Cm. Halket asked Isles if she could get more information on the Teen Museum Apprentice Camp so she can advise
interested participants at Dublin High School about this unique program, especially the GATE students.
Cm. Lussie commended Isles on offering something for every age group.
Chairperson Mack asked about the cost of the Teen Museum Apprentice camp and what the registration procedures
were for this program. Isles answered that the cost is $375 for three weeks or $125.00 to participate on a weekly
basis. Priority registration is always extended to Dublin Residents for one week, on a first come/first served basis.
After the Dublin Resident Priority Registration period expires, registration will then open to non-residents on a
first come/first served basis.
Harnett reminded the Commission that this is a fee based class, therefore minimum enrollment must be met in
order to run this camp or we would have to cancel the camp.
Cm. Halket asked if this camp could count towards a community service project and if certificates would be given
out for the students to enhance their educational portfolio to assist them with college applications. Isles advised
she would have to check into Cm. Halket's inquiries and get back to her with an answer as to whether or not-this
camp could be considered a community service project. Isles did not see a problem with providing participants
will certificates of completion as this is a job skills based camp.
