Discuss Goals & Objectives for Fiscal
Year 1985-86
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None At This Time
DESCRIPTION: In early February, the City Council will
hold a study session to review the status of 1984-85 goals
and objectives and to formulate plans for next fiscal year.
In preparation for this meeting, we are asked to review
1984-85 objectives, add objectives for the remainder of 1985
and provide recommendations for next fiscal year.
The following guidelines are provided for consideration in
developing goals and objectives:
1. An effective goal statement need be expressed in
broad encompassing terms. It should provide
overall direction for accomplishment and should not
be in conflict with any general government goals.
2. Objectives are best stated in specific terms and
should be able to be measured in quantifable terms.
Objectives should contain a time line and should be
realistic, that is, achieveable. Objectives should
support the goal statement and not be in conflict
with it.
Some considerations for new objectives are:
1. Coordinate production of Senior Citizen Gold
Card Booklet for Dublin (March/85).
2. Revise rental policy for Shannon Community Center
(April/85).
ITEM NO: 6
3. Develop policy for co-sponsorship of recreation
related groups (April/85).
4. Assume sport field scheduling responsibility for
Dublin facilities from DSRSD (April/85).
5. Plan and conduct an unstructured after school
recreation program at two locations (April-
June/85).
6. Sponsor a Senior Citizens Health Fair (March/85).
7. Participate in Annual St. Patricks' Day Celebration
(March/86).
8. Increase special class offerings for youth and
adults by 10% from 1984-85.
9. Increase utilization of Shannon Center by 20%.
10. Sponsor 6 City Wide Special Events.
11. Process applications for co-sponsorship of 6 groups
(Throughout year).
12. Publish and mail 4 issues of Recreation Brochure to
residents of Dublin and DSRSD.
13. Provide one public service program per quarter.
14. Conduct 85% of classes offered.
15. Recommend policy for reduced registration rates for
senior citizens. (June/85).
16. Install Dublin Recreation Department identifying
sign at front of park (May/85).
17. Complete Joint Use Agreements with Murray School
District and Amador Valley Joint School District
(June/85).
18. Transfer of Shannon Community Center from DSRSD to
City of Dublin (Other facilities???)
19. Addition of park improvements.
