HomeMy WebLinkAbout6 1985-86 BudgetCITY OF DUBLIN AGENDA STATEMENT Meeting Date: January 8, 1985 SUBJECT: 1985-86 Budget EXHIBITS ATTACHED: Goals & Objectives Fiscal Year 1984-85 RECOMMENDATION: Review & Evaluate Exhibit Discuss Goals & Objectives for Fiscal Year 1985-86 FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None At This Time DESCRIPTION: In early February, the City Council will hold a study session to review the status of 1984-85 goals and objectives and to formulate plans for next fiscal year. In preparation for this meeting, we are asked to review 1984-85 objectives, add objectives for the remainder of 1985 and provide recommendations for next fiscal year. The following guidelines are provided for consideration in developing goals and objectives: 1. An effective goal statement need be expressed in broad encompassing terms. It should provide overall direction for accomplishment and should not be in conflict with any general government goals. 2. Objectives are best stated in specific terms and should be able to be measured in quantifable terms. Objectives should contain a time line and should be realistic, that is, achieveable. Objectives should support the goal statement and not be in conflict with it. Some considerations for new objectives are: 1. Coordinate production of Senior Citizen Gold Card Booklet for Dublin (March/85). 2. Revise rental policy for Shannon Community Center (April/85). ITEM NO: 6 3. Develop policy for co-sponsorship of recreation related groups (April/85). 4. Assume sport field scheduling responsibility for Dublin facilities from DSRSD (April/85). 5. Plan and conduct an unstructured after school recreation program at two locations (April- June/85). 6. Sponsor a Senior Citizens Health Fair (March/85). 7. Participate in Annual St. Patricks' Day Celebration (March/86). 8. Increase special class offerings for youth and adults by 10% from 1984-85. 9. Increase utilization of Shannon Center by 20%. 10. Sponsor 6 City Wide Special Events. 11. Process applications for co-sponsorship of 6 groups (Throughout year). 12. Publish and mail 4 issues of Recreation Brochure to residents of Dublin and DSRSD. 13. Provide one public service program per quarter. 14. Conduct 85% of classes offered. 15. Recommend policy for reduced registration rates for senior citizens. (June/85). 16. Install Dublin Recreation Department identifying sign at front of park (May/85). 17. Complete Joint Use Agreements with Murray School District and Amador Valley Joint School District (June/85). 18. Transfer of Shannon Community Center from DSRSD to City of Dublin (Other facilities???) 19. Addition of park improvements.
