HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 144-16 Denying Eastern Dublin Specific Plan Amendment Study RESOLUTION NO. 144 - 16 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN DENYING THE INITIATION OF A GENERAL PLAN AND EASTERN DUBLIN SPECIFIC PLAN AMENDMENT STUDY TO EVALUATE CHANGING THE LAND USE DESIGNATION OF 14.1 ACRES LOCATED BETWEEN FINNIAN WAY AND CENTRAL PARKWAY TO MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL AND MEDIUM-HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL (3553 FINNIAN WAY & 3501 FINNIAN WAY) WHEREAS, the City has received a request from Martin Inderbitzen on behalf of Grafton Station, LLC to initiate a General Plan and Eastern Dublin Specific Plan Amendment Study to change the existing Neighborhood Commercial and Public/Semi-Public Land Use designations to Medium Density Residential and Medium-High Density Residential to accommodate an active senior (age restricted to 55 and older) residential community within the project area; and WHEREAS, said study area currently includes 3.1 acres designated as Public/Semi- Public adjacent to Chancery Lane and 11 acres designated as Neighborhood Commercial; and WHEREAS, the requested study would evaluate changing the existing land use designations from Public/Semi-Public and Neighborhood Commercial to Medium Density Residential and Medium-High Density Residential; and WHEREAS, the General Plan and Eastern Dublin Specific Plan Amendment Study initiation request has been reviewed in accordance with the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and was found to be Categorically Exempt under Section 15306, Class 6 of the State CEQA Guidelines; and WHEREAS, a Staff Report was submitted outlining the details of the General Plan and Eastern Dublin Specific Plan Amendment Study initiation request; and WHEREAS, the City Council did hear and consider all such reports, recommendations, and testimony hereinabove set forth. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Dublin City Council does hereby deny the initiation of a General Plan and Eastern Dublin Specific Plan Amendment Study to evaluate changing the land use designation of the study area to Medium Density Residential and Medium-High Density Residential.
