YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE
AGENDA STATEMENT
MEETING DATE: March 10, 1998
SUBJECT: Spring Teen Concert In The Park
EXHIBITS ATTACHED: None
RECOMMENDATION: Receive Report and Provide Input
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION: One of the 1997 high priority objectives of the Dublin City Council
is "Music at the Civic Center-Summer concerts with variety of music for Summer 1997; involve youth".
Funds were included in the Fiscal Year 1997-98 Budget for two concerts; one geared for families/adults
and one for teens.
Summer was not conducive for planning and conducting the teen concert because there was no way to
target teens for promotion of the event. Therefore, Staff choose to wait until the Fall of the 97/98 school
year. The development of the Youth Advisory Committee put the idea of a Fall concert on hold until the
Committee was in place. This was done so the Youth Advisory Committee could be involved in the
planning process.
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the Committee consider if this is an event that could be successfully held this
Spring.
