DESCRIPTION: The Dublin Parks and Couni Services Department will be
conducting the annual St. Patrick's Day Celebration on March lg and 4. The Committee had previously
mentioned the possibility of working a booth as a fund-raiser and for Youth Advisory Committee name
recognition. The Youth Advisory Committee could sell celebration t-shirts at the celebration and along
the parade route. Sales would be done in conjunction with the Parks and Community Services
Department. Good Times Promotions organizing the event anticipates an attendance of 20,000 people at
this year's event.
There is a substantial investment of $750 that at 100% sales would yield about$1500 gross profit with a
net profit of approximately $650. The number oft-shirts that would have to be sold to achieve 100% sales
is 300. This money would be returned to the general fund and listed as teen revenue which would offset
expenses incurred by teen programs.
This venture would require that all YAC members work the booth and parade route. YAC members
working the booth would receive a"special celebration T-shirt" with the YAC logo on the back.
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the Committee review and discuss the t-shirt sales opportunity. Staff also
recommends that the Committee consider whether or not this is a task the Youth Advisory Committee can
commit to given all the other responsibilities members may have that day.
