FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the minutes of the May 25,2016 Regular Meeting of the Youth Advisory Committee. ITEMNO: 4.1 Page l of 1 V�.�-��r�i�� YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE � iy��'���� REGULAR MEETING l�t � �% ���,�„���� Draft Minutes CITY OF DUBLIN May 25, 2016 The May 25, 2016, meeting of the Youth Advisory Committee was called to order at 7:01 PM at the Dublin Senior Center by Chair Bedi. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The pledge of allegiance to the flag was recited by the Commission, Staff and those present. ROLL CALL Committee Members (CM) Present: Alini, Bedi, Nicki Butler, Goel, Nuruddin, Rajkumar,Tran Committee Members Absent: Meghan Butler, Sophie Butler, Nunez, Marquez, Shah, Sher, Tomlinson, Won, Wong Liaison Absent: Tabaracci, Parks and Community Services Commission Liaison Staff Present: McPherson ORAL COMMUNICATIONS 3.1 Public Comments—None. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 4.1 Minutes of the April 27,2016 Regular Meeting On a motion by CM Nuruddin, seconded by CM Nicki Butler, and by a vote of 7-0-0, with Committee Members Meghan Butler, Sophie Butler, Nunez, Marquez, Shah, Sher, Tomlinson, Won and Wong absent, the Youth Advisory Committee voted to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 27, 2016, as presented. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS—None. UNFINISHED BUSINESS—None. NEW BUSINESS 7.1 Proposed Youth Expo Recreation Supervisor, Ms. Lisa McPherson, presented a follow-up report regarding the Youth Expo event proposal from Dublin youth/resident Mr. Nikolai Peram. The Advisory Committee Members supported staff's proposal regarding Mr. Peram's request to showcase youth talents at the Famers' Market and discuss the outcome at a future Advisory Committee Meeting. ACTION On a motion by CM Nicki Butler, seconded by CM Tran, and by a vote of 7-0-0, with Committee Members Meghan Butler, Sophie Butler, Nunez, Marquez, Shah, Sher, Tomlinson, Won and Wong YAC Draft Minutes—May 25,2016—Page 2 of 2 absent, the Youth Advisory Committee voted to recommend to the Parks and Community Services Commission the request to conduct a Battle of the Bands and a Dance Competition at a Farmers' Market in late August or early September. 7.2 End of Term Celebration Ms. Lisa McPherson presented the staff report and expressed appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the 2015-16 Youth Advisory Committee Members and their accomplishments during the term. ACTION The Advisory Committee received the report and provided feedback to the 2016-2017 Youth Advisory Committee Members with advice on being active, volunteer at all City events, provide feedback at Advisory Committee Meetings, support youth initiatives and attend the Tri-Valley Roundtable. OTHER BUSINESS The Advisory Committee Members provided brief reports on meetings attended over the past month and upcoming events.
