SUBJECT: Youth Showcase at the September 22, 2016 Farmers' Market
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Advisory Committee will select three Advisory Committee members to participate on a Youth Showcase
Subcommittee to assist the event coordinator, Mr. Nikolai Peram, on the day of the event, Thursday,
September 22,2016, from 3:00 to 9:00 PM at the Farmers' Market.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
A General Fund contribution of$5,000 has been designated to offset event day equipment rentals associated
with the Youth Showcase which is a Batde of the Bands and Dance Competition.
RECOMMENDATION:
Select three Advisory Committee Members to participate on a Youth Showcase Subcoinmittee.
DESCRIPTION:
At the July 19, 2016 City Council Meeting, the City Council approved the recommendarion from the Parks
and Community Services Commission for the Youth Advisory Cominittee to assist the event coordinator
with conducring a youth Batde of the Bands and Dance Competition at the last Farmers' Market of the
season.
The Youth Showcase Subcommittee will assist Mr. Peram and his volunteers on the day of the event with set-
up,break-down, and ensuring the performance schedule is being followed.
NOTICING REQUIREMENTS/PUBLIC OUTREACH:
A copy of this Staff Report was provided to Mr. Peram.
