AQUATOTS
This course is designed for parents who are interested in
acquainting their child with the water and presenting the basics
of swimming instruction under the supervision of an ex-
perienced instructor. Emphasis is placed -on developing a
positive attitude toward the water environment. In this ou crse
the parent will take direct responsibility for their child's in-
struction. The teacher will provide individual and group
guidance and information to parents concerning techniques and
methods of instruction. Open to children 6 months to 3
years old. This is a parent participation class.
LITTLE SPLASHERS
The purpose of the splasher's program is to give 3 to 5 year
olds with little or no experience with swimming a positive in-
troduction to the water. With the help of a qualified instruc-
tor, the child will explore the effects of physical movement
in the water and to adjust to the water both physically and men-
tally. Basic swimming skills will be introduced upon readiness.
SUPER SPLASHERS
Super Splashers is designed for 3 to 5 year olds who are very
comfortable in the water but do not meet the height require-
ment of 44 inches for the beginner class. All of the basic swim-
ming skies and stroke work will be covered. This class will
be open to those who have successfully completed Little
Splashers or who have previous swimming experience.
BEGINNER
The primary goal of this course is to have the student become
comfortable and safe in the water. No swimming skills are
required but students should be 6 years of age, have completed
one year of school and be 44 inches tall. Upon successful com-
pletion of the course, students will be able to swim short
distances on front and back, float on front and back and sur-
vival float. More importantly, students will learn basic safety
skills and will be taught to respect as well as enjoy water
activities.
ADVANCED BEGINNER
This program expands the knowledge and skills learned in the
Beginner class. In this course students will improve their front
crawl stroke, increase their stamina and endurance and be
introduced to the elementary backstroke. Other new skills
include diving, treading water and underwater swimming. To
be eligible, students must have successfully completed the
Beginner course or have equivalent skills.
INT'ERAIEDIATE
The emphasis of this course is the development of efficiency
and proficiency in four different strokes. Students will review
and improve the front crawl and elementary backstroke and
will be introduced to the sidestroke and breaststroke. New
skills include sculling, survival stroke, turns and various safety
skills. Certification requires a good general form and en-
durance for all strokes.
S WE"AIER
The main objectives of the Swimmer course are to develop
endurance and stamina and to develop precise coordination
of basic swimming strokes. The back crawl stroke will be in-
troduced and new skills will include surface dives, entries and
basic rescue techniques. The Swimmer course is highly recom-
