DESCRIPTION The Five -Year Capital Improvement Program (CIP)
serves as a planning document in which the City's capital facility needs are
identified in terms of scope, cost and the City's projected ability to
finance these needs. Preparation of the 1990-95 Capital Improvement
Program is underway and input from the Park and Recreation Commission is
needed in order to prioritize those projects identified under Parks.
Below is a listing of those projects currently included in the CIP as well
as the Fiscal Year in which the work is scheduled:

In addition to the aforementioned projects, the following projects were
prioritized by the Commission in May of 1989, but were not included in the
CIP due to insufficient funding:
Wells -Cronin Athletic Field Renovation
Frederiksen Athletic Field Renovation
Murray School Athletic Field Renovation
Dublin Elementary School Athletic Field Renovation
Dougherty Hills Open Space
Staff has identified additional projects for inclusion into the CIP as
follows:
Dublin Senior Center Upgrade - Includes kitchen renovation and floor
replacement. This will be paid for through a Community Development
Block Grant.
Dublin Swim Center Upgrade - Provides for renovation of the bathhouse.
Dublin Sports Grounds Renovation - Scope of work includes repair and
renovation of present fields, as well as addition/or relocation of
fields.
Masterplan for East and West Dublin - Provides for a consultant to
develop a masterplan identifying the park and recreational facility
needs associated with the growth in East and West Dublin.
In order to incorporate these projects in the CIP, staff recommends that the
Commission review and prioritize the list of proposed projects. Staff will
then work with the Public Works Director and City Manager to determine the
funding sources available and those projects which can realistically be
funded and completed.
