DESCRIPTION: The Dublin Senior Center will host the 31"d Annual Step Out for Senior
Centers event on Saturday, May 15, 2004 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Using the 2004 Older American's Month
theme - "Living Well, Aging Well", the Dublin event will promote active living and learning for seniors. An added
venue will be held at the Dublin Library consisting of an Art Show and an Information and Resources Faire.
The Step Out Event has been traditionally held on the third Saturday in May to celebrate Senior Center Awareness
Week as well as Older Americans Month. This year the walk will begin at the Dublin Library at 9:00 a.m. and end
at the Dublin Senior Center. Participants and volunteers are invited to a free pancake breakfast following their
walk. Transportation will be offered back to the Dublin Library to view the Art Show and display of services and
resources available. There will be mini-workshops on topics such as the new Senior Housing project, the new
Medicare update, in-home service providers, and creating a secure future now. Art demonstrations will also be
conducted on card folding and woodcut art. Door prizes will be given away at the end of the event at 1:30 p.m.
Attachment 1 provides a detailed schedule of events.
An Art Exhibition featuring 30 local senior artists from the Senior Center Watercolor, Art, and Quilting classes will
be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Library. All participants of the various events are invited to the
breakfast at the Senior Center.

Center.

- Educate the public and potential customers about services available to seniors and their families.
