What: The Background,
The Step Out Event was originally planned to celebrate Senior Center Awareness Week as well as Older
Americans Month. Held on the third Saturday in May,this event has traditionally begun with a one-mile
walk around the Dublin Senior Center at 9:00 a.m. and included a free breakfast and a display of services
and resources available to seniors.Mayor Lockhart has agreed to lead the walk once again.
This year, there will be one more venue. The purpose of the Art Exhibit is to attract new patrons to our
Center. The Art Show will be held at the Dublin Library as a type of outreach program for seniors to
bring the Senior Center activities and services into the community.
Using the 2004 Older American's Month theme-"Living Well,Aging Well",the Dublin Senior Center
promotes active living and learning for seniors.

1:30 p.m. featuring local senior artists from the Senior Center Watercolor Class,Art, and Quilting classes
as well as community entries. Participants of this event are invited to the breakfast at the Senior Center.
All breakfast attendees will then be encouraged to visit the Dublin Library. See Attachment 1: the Art
Show Application, for more information.
