SUBJECT: An Update on the Dublin Senior Housing Project
ATTACHMENT: None
RECOMMENDATION: Receive Report
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION: Staff will present an update on the Dublin Senior Housing Project on
Amador Valley Blvd. The project, being constructed by Eden Housing, Inc., is anticipated to begin in
March with a completion date of summer 2005. Eden will own and manage the development. Eden will
begin taking applications and provide a phone number as they get closer to completion of the project. For
information interested parties should contact the City of Dublin Community Development Department at
(925) 833-6610.
If there are more applicants than units, Eden Housing, Inc. will conduct a lottery to decide who will live in
the units. Dublin residents who are seniors will have a preference over seniors that live elsewhere. All
units will be for very low income seniors 62 years and older (one member of household - if two people -
must be 62 or older). There will be 53 one-bedroom, 580 square foot, units for lease to fully independent
senior(s) (one or two people max). The units will each have one living/dining room area, one kitchen, one
bathroom, one bedroom and a balcony. The complex will have a Community Room for functions, a
library, a laundry room with coin operated machines, an outdoor patio and terraced area in the rear, as
well as areas for tenant gardening plots. A gated resident parking garage will be under the building.
