Attachment 1 is a detailed attendance report. Overall, attendance at Senior Center programs and activities has
remained steady, while the Lunch Program has shown a slight decline. The lunch program continues to provide
reasonable yet tasty meals while offering seniors an opportunity to enjoy getting together with friends and great
entertainment. The Dublin Rotary Club has continued to serve meals during all the Special Luncheons.
Traditionally, the Dublin Police Department Officers and Staff serve meals at the December Holiday Luncheon.
In an effort to increase the lunch attendance, Staff created a new program titled Crossing Cultures in conjunction
with the lunch program on the fourth Thursday of each month. Seniors are able discover a new country while being
treated to the special cuisine of that country. Staff seeks the assistance of the senior patrons to volunteer their time
to cook, share information or something interesting about each country. The first country featured was Japan (15
patrons) in December, Germany (35 patrons) was featured in January, and China (48 patrons) in February. Jack
Schmidt, violinist, and Ken Logsdon, accordionist, provided live entertainment for the German festivities. Douglas
Henry,Tai chi master, and Anna Hudson demonstrated two styles of Tai Chi to senior patrons.
The Dublin Senior Center volunteers helped prune over 150 roses at Emerald Glen Park. Over 45 volunteer hours
were spent helping to prune the roses under the guidance of Ken Jones, President of the Mount Diablo Rose
Society. Each weekend in January, volunteers dedicated a few hours to prune the roses.
