SUBJECT: Modifications to Senior Center Advisory Committee Bylaws

Commissioner Guarienti reported he attended the dinner only at the City sponsored Golf Tournament. He
commented that the price for dinner only did not seem much different than golf and dinner. He
recommended adding a putting activity before the dinner so non-golfing seniors could participate.
Commissioner Guarienti suggested the following layout improvements for the Dublin Doings. Identify
photos with names specifically if there is an opportunity to give recognition to volunteers in the
newsletter and where volunteers are featured. He also suggested changing the Dublin Advisory
Committee meeting and placing it in the front of the newsletter.
McCreary announced that the Pandigital Company in Dublin donated a 10 '/z inch digital photo frame to
the Mayor who then donated it to the Senior Center. Window tint on the doors and windows will be
installed next week. The 2009 Summer Concert series begins on Friday, July 10.
CM Bonetti thanked Office Assistant Linda Lau for being persistent in relaying the message to her to
assist a fellow Foundation Member in need.

V. OFFICERS
A. Election and Term of Office. The Chairperson and Vice Chairperson are elected by
the majority of the Advisory Committee for a 1-year term and hold office until their
successors are elected, or until their terms as members of the Advisory Committee
expire. The officers are elected at the first meeting of the Advisory Committee in
December January of each year. Elections,whether regular or to fill vacancies shall be
held only if a majority of the Advisory Committee members are present. The Advisory
Committee shall unless no Committee Members meet the criteria elect Comma
embers to the .ositions that ha e not . eviousl served in the .osition and that have
not declined the a.'ointment with the intent that no on should serve in the .osition for
two consecutive years.
The secretary to the Advisory Committee will be the City Manager or his or her
designate.
.RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the Advisory Committee receive the report and
recommend approval of the proposed Bylaw changes to the City Council.
