Attachment 1 is a detailed attendance report which breaks down the attendance by activities. Staff is
proud to have the volunteer instructors and greeters continue to help promote the Senior Center vision of
"Creating rewar ngfriendili s, intriguing activities amfa lfestyl ofpossihilties!"
The total attendance increased by 9% this past spring compared to last, despite several Amador Valley
Adult School and other classes being cancelled. The Center is well-utilized by regulars, and often seniors
stop by to just"hang out",use the interne, watch television, or play a game with a friend.
Three popular and long time Las Positas Community College instructors (Monica Satterwaite, Nancy
O'Connell, and Luis Valverde) for the Watercolor/Landscape Art, Writing for Publication and Moving
Body were replaced with new instructors, which may be the reason for the decreased attendance in these
classes. •

March Special Events
Four special activities were offered in March. Popular instructor, DJ Millie Dusha provided the music for
the Line Dance Social. The St. Patrick's Day Luncheon more than sold out with 123 seniors enjoying a
traditional corned beef and cabbage meal. Delicious food coupled with fantastic entertainment by Casa
Sandoval made this special luncheon very popular with seniors. Back by popular demand, Lady K and the
Kings of Swing played big band music at the DancEscape Social for 184 seniors. Spain was the featured
country at the Crossing Cultures luncheon. Chef Cathy served a special menu featuring Spanish
delicacies.
Two workshops were offered: "Identity Theft" by Dublin Police Services, and "Advance Health
Directives"by the Palos Verdes Foundation.
March offered four exciting trips. The van sold out for all three van trips with long waiting lists. The first
trip featured a comedic performance of the Gershwin musical, Lady, Be Good, in San Jose. The second
trip to the Disney Family museum at the Presidio offered a glimpse into the life of an American icon. The
final destination for the month was to a perennial favorite, Daffodil Hill. Thirty-four people also took
advantage of the free tickets to the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra.

San Francisco's Asian Art Museum was offered.
The Jam Band led by new volunteers, Judith Kuftin and Merrill Ito began. They also play music for the
Thursday sing-along group. New volunteer Charlie Wright was also recruited to help with music and
arrangements. They have chosen Melody Minstrels as the name for the singing group.
April Special Events
The month of April featured two special activities. The Spring Forward Luncheon featured a hilarious
Lucille Ball radio/play performed by the Pleasanton Playhouse Players. Sixty seniors dined on a menu
that included lamb with mint jelly. The Volunteer Appreciation Lunch welcomed 116 volunteers plus
dignitaries. Chef Cathy served mouthwatering prime rib and scalloped potatoes.
Both April van trips were sold out. The trip to San Francisco's Chinatown explored this historic district
with tour guide, Marilyn Straka. Back by popular demand, the trip to Cannel by the Sea provided a day of
leisure. Participants spent the day on their own exploring this charming seaside community.
