the City of Dublin and the County of Alameda for the Community
Development Block Grant Program Fiscal year 2001-2002, and
authorizing the Mayor to execute six originals of the agreement.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
See discussion below.
DESCRIPTION:
On February 6, 2001, the City Council directed staff to apply to the Alameda County Housing and
Community Development Department (Alameda County) for $ 92,057.00 in Community Development
Block Grant (CDBG) funding for Fiscal year 2001-2002. On February 7, 2001, staff was notified that the
U.S. Housing and Urban Development Department decreased the 2001 CDBG formula for the Urban
County by $4,000. Alameda County requested that each Urban County jurisdiction modify project
budgets based on the new amount. Dublin's total CDBG allocation was reduced by $167. Since the City
rarely expends the full amount of Program Administrative funds within a, given program year, staff
directed Alameda County to reduce the $6,600 Program Administration amount by $167.
Alameda County approved the City's CDBG funding request as follows:
1. Sidewalk Ramps for Handicapped Accessibility: $ 9,523.00
2. Arroyo Vista Roof Repair: $ 42,000.00
3. Tri-Valley Housing Scholarship Program: $10,000.00
4. Senior Support Program: $ 7,500.00

In accordance with the Alameda County CDBG administrative procedures and the U.S. Department of
Housing and Community Development regulations, the City of Dublin, as an Urban County city, must
enter into an agreement with Alameda County for complying with the CDBG program. The agreement
outlines CDBG activities and responsibilities for both Alameda County and City of Dublin. The City
Council must execute six original agreements for submission to the Alameda County Board of
SupervisOrs.
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached resolution authorizing an agreement between
the City and Alameda County regarding the CDBG Program for Fiscal year 2001-2002 and authorizing
