A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
DENYING VAKIANGE TO SECTION 3301(c) OF 1985 UNIFORM BUILDING CODE
WHEREAS, Bill Garaway, Garaway Contracting acting on behalf of
the owners of 6800 Sierra Court, Dublin, has requested a variance to Section
3301(c) of the 1985 Uniform Building Code of the City of Dublin which requires
if only two exists are required they shall be placed a distance apart equal to
not less than one-half of the length of the maximum overall diagonal dimension
of the building, or area to be served measured in a straight line between
exits; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did hold a public hearing on this
matter on March 13, 1989; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that granting the variance would
lessen the protection to the people of the City of Dublin and property
situated thereon, and that the granting of the variance is not consistent with
the spirit and purpose of the Building Code;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby
deny said requested variance.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 13th day of March, 1989.
