The Commission asked about the annual job fair event.
Ms. McPherson explained the annual job fair is held in March because kids are in
school and March is a good time for Staff to start looking to hire for summer. She
stated that 35-40% of job fair attendance result in job offerings.
The Commission asked about attendance at the Senior Center and whether
attendance for the bread giveaway counts as attendance.
Ms. Cronin explained that the door counter tallies traffic passing through the
Senior Center, regardless of the time of day or reason for the visit.
The Commission asked about the recent opening of The Wave, including the
status of different food vendors, what outreach has been done to attract company
rentals, and whether resident or family passes would be offered.
Ms. Cronin explained that despite some technology issues, it has been a
successful year thus far. She said more food vendors are expected and although
it was initially challenging to set price points, there has been overall success.
She stated that Staff is considering a concessions stand in the near future. She
explained there has been interest in company rentals but Staff is planning to
increase outreach to help increase this interest. She further explained that the
Wave currently offers a convenience pass for lap swim.

work with programs and events.
