P&CSC Minutes—June 19, 2017—Page 2 of 2 The Commission expressed concerns regarding the proposed facility rental fees for non-profit organizations, advising that the fee change should be thoughtfully and thoroughly communicated in advance to the community and directly to the affected organizations, and existing bookings should be honored at the current fees. The Commission expressed that they understand the need to increase fees and not operate at a loss; however, it is important to also recognize the benefit the non-profit organizations provide to the community. Mr. Rodems explained that the proposed facility rental fees for non-profit organizations would not be effective until January 2018. Staff planned to communicate the rate change prior to this date to allow organizations time to adjust to the fee change. Commission Members asked Staff to consider a fee structure for a family pass, and a non-fee pass for adults/guardians to enter the facility to solely accompany their children and not participate in the amenities. Mr. Rodems stated that Staff is looking into both of these options. ACTION The Commission received the Report.
